- Create a well-organized exhibition area, intuitive, and accessible, and is located in a high-traffic area of team members on the plant floor.
- Select a common area on the production floor.
- Have data displays that are well-lit and organized.
- Displays need to be updated frequently.
- It should be clear that data drives quick action.
- Maintain data accurate and up to date.
- Inaccurate or old data reduces the credibility of the leadership team and the commitment of the entire team.
- The data is designed according with audience.
- The data must be relevant to the group and can be put into practice.
- Data is communicated at all levels.
- Include a safety topic in production team/department/shift start meetings.
- Organize general plant meetings, include recognition and safety information.
- Feedback focuses on positive reinforcement
- Thank team members for all their suggestions and observations.
- Openly acknowledge team members who offer effective suggestions.
Data Displays
Display up-to-date EHS performance information in a visual format that is available to all employees in the plant. This information should include the following:
- Trend KPIs, including incidents, and results of observation and feedback
- Outcome KPIs, including recordable and first-aid injuries
- Active Risk Mitigation
- Open Issues
- Eight disciplines (8D) of recent incidents o Alerts about incidents in other locations relevant to the plant.
- The plant's annual EHS objectives and goals, including information on how employees can contribute to the achievement of the objectives.
These visual display formats should include expiration dates for all information to ensure that the data is up to date. These displays should be located in an area of the plant where most employees walk on a daily basis.
